Dr. ChiChi

ChiChi is a digital health and health system’s professional, with a multidisciplinary background spanning areas such as Health Informatics, Information Systems and Global Health Research. Specifically, she works at the intersection of Global Health Care and Digital Health.  Her approach is grounded in evidence-driven research and an in-depth understanding of the practical challenges that health systems in LMICs face. She has a PhD in Health Information Systems from the University of Brunel, UK.

ChiChi is familiar with working in challenging situations and contexts, and often in LMICs such as Nigeria. She is committed to building capacity of communities to ensure empowerment for marginalised people, particularly women and children. Her efforts have particularly focused on improving healthcare in challenging settings through innovation in the design, development, implementation, use and evaluation of appropriate, sustainable and scalable digital health systems. ChiChi also works as a health educator by contributing to healthcare capacity strengthening of primary health workers in Nigeria. For example, in this role, ChiChi’s work includes strengthening capacity through the development and facilitation of workshops on collecting and analyzing data on a particular community to inform future programs and services, techniques and tools for effective dissemination of relevant information pertaining to health and wellness to those in the community, etc.

ChiChi was actively involved in the management of Global Health Projects within the Global Health Research Portfolio at the National Institute of Health and Care research (NIHR) in the UK where she worked as a programme manager for three years. The global Health Portfolio was established by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) UK in 2016, with the strategic priority of addressing the shifting global burden of diseases, tackling future global health threats and strengthen research capacity in LMICs.

ChiChi’s latest research work is a book chapter titled: Yale University and the Impact of Future-Oriented Leadership During the Covid Pandemic: in Futures Thinking and Organizational Policy (Volume 2): Case Studies for Managing Rapid Change in Social Media, Shift in Wealth, and Government Instability (by: Deborah A. Schreiber and Zane L. Berge).

She co-authors this book chapter with her former colleague at the University of Northampton UK, a higher education institution where she worked as a Senior Lecturer.
